PTSD is caused by experiencing a prolonged trauma or even a single distressing, stressful event. Its symptoms are generally grouped into four types including; intrusive memories, avoidance, negative change in mood and way of thinking, and physical and emotional reactions. These symptoms can differ from client to client, and can interfere with a person’s ability to perform daily tasks, work performance, social interactions, and relationships.
If you are showing symptoms of PTSD, you may want to consider an outside perspective. Counselling is a safe and non judgmental space where you would work together with your therapist in understanding your symptoms and determining appropriate management strategies.
